Corporate History

The A. P. O’Horo Company was incorporated as a general contractor in the State of Ohio in 1947.  The company is licensed to work in Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia.  The O’Horo family has been a part of the company since it’s inception, with three (3) generations of O’Horo’s involved in the company.    Current O’Horo family members of the company are Daniel J. O’Horo, President and his son, Daniel P. O’Horo,  Vice President.  Family has a lot to do with the success of the company.  Many of the workers who have been with the company over 20 years, have brought their sons into the industry.  The number of employees exceeds one hundred fifty.

The A. P. O’Horo Company is a full service commercial and industrial general contractor, specializing in buildings, water and sewage plants, utility work, road and bridge projects, as well as other types of general construction work.    The company has been a charter builder of Nucor Metal Building systems since 1991.

The company facilities consist of an office and warehouse facility covering approximately  20,000 sq. ft.   The  equipment / material storage yards occupy approximately 10 acres.  

The company’s financial position is strong, as attested by our large bonding capacity.  A. P. O’Horo’s annual contract volume runs around $35,000,000.00.

We maintain and operate our own fleet of equipment, valued at over $10 million.  This includes cranes, backhoes, bulldozers, graders, rollers, dump trucks, and other equipment necessary to complete the various construction projects.

The company’s safety record is exceptional.  Our goal is not to just meet OSHA requirements, but to provide a safe workplace for all our employees.

Our project completion record is equally good.  The A. P. O’Horo Company works closely with our clients to assure a smooth-running project with a minimum of inconvenience. 

The A. P. O’Horo Company is proud to be a union contractor.  This provides us with an unlimited source of skilled craftsmen.  Many of our employees have been with O’Horo over 15 years.  The supervisory and management core personnel have an abundance of experience in the construction industry, which enables us to complete any size project on budget and on time.
